तामागी गाउका तमुहरु तिबत्ति बौद्ध दर्शनमा आस्था राखदछन्। बिशेष गरितमुहरुका मृत्यु तथा यस संग जोडिएका बौद्धलामाहरुबाट गरिनेक्रियाकलापहरु बाट यो झल्किन्छ। एउटा व्यक्तिको निधन पछि उन्पचासदिन भित्र सम्पन्न गरिने धार्मिक क्रियालाई प्हे भनिन्छ। पुराना दिनहरुमा प्हेतिन दिन गरिन्थ्यो भने अहिले यो क्रिया एकैदिनमा समाप्त गरिन्छ। तिन दिनसम्म गरिने यो प्हे (अर्घु) बितेको व्यक्तिको आत्मालाई शान्त रुपमा स्वर्गमा पठाउन गरिने विश्वास रहेको छ। प्हेको थालनी पछि दोस्रोदिनमा बितेको व्यक्तिको आत्मालाई घरमा ल्याउने भन्ने विश्वासमा योठाउमा सातो बोलाउन जाने भएकाले यो ठाउको नाम र्ही तेबा भएको हो। तमु भाषामा ह्री भनेको बितेको व्यक्तिको आत्माकोरुप हो पनि भनिन्छ।

In the Tamagi community, Tamus practice Tibetan Buddhism. Rituals performed by the Buddhist monks related to the deaths of Tamu’s signify this. The ritual is carried out within forty-nine days after the death and is called “Pae”. In the old days, this ritual would last for three days, but today it is completed in a single day. In Tamu community, there is a belief that the soul of the deceased could only be sent peacefully to heaven by means of this Buddhist ritual. On the second day of the ritual, it is believed that the soul of the deceased must be brought back home and on the third day the journey to heaven is completed. In order to achieve this, the community identified this place by giving it the name Rhi-teba.
